Comparison with Dissection
The Snow Leopard is similar to the pig, rat, and even a frog. All these animals had something in common like the fact that they were all bilateral , vertebrates, and all have coelom or a full body cavity. During the dissection we saw that all of these animals had a full body cavity, you could see everything from the heart to the stomach, to the large and small intestine. All of these animals had almost the same organs, some were female with their specific organs and others were males with theirs.

What is unique about the Snow Leopard in comparison to these other animals?
The Snow Leopard does have a similar anatomy to some of these animals but it is still different in many ways. The Snow Leopard doesn't have feet, web toes, and is primarily in a cold climate. The Snow Leopard already has its fur to protect it from the cold but also has a wide short nasal cavity that heats up the air before it reaches the sensitive lungs. Extra large paws keep the cat from sinking into the snow. Snow Leopards have two short front legs and two long back legs so that it can jump up to 30 feet in a single jump. A long thick tail helps the Snow Leopard keep its balance in the snow.
